A 5* all inclusive resort for your feathered family
About Hen Weekend Chicken Boarding
Passionate About Your Pets
We set up Hen Weekend Chicken Boarding a short while ago to provide a “hennel” service for hens and ducks! Cats and dogs are able to go to catteries and kennels - but what about our feathered babies? So here we are, enabling you to go on holiday worry free, while your hens and ducks can enjoy their own 5* holiday.
While we’re proud of our fun and easygoing attitude, our commitment to the safety and security of your pet guides everything we do.
Services We Provide
Hen and duck boarding
Our accommodation is in the grounds of our family home, which allows us to give round the clock care. We only board one flock at a time to create a peaceful and calm environment, we all know how sensitive our birds can be with change!
With plenty of enrichment and boredom busters to keep them busy, they will get plenty of love and attention and are welcomed with open arms like they are our own.
“Chick inn” visits
Boarding is one of our most popular services, but if you have a large flock, only going away for 1-2 days, or simply would feel more comfortable with your pets staying in their own home - then “chick inn” visits are an alternative!
I am happy to travel within a 10 mile radius to your home, farm or small holding. Prices for this service may vary depending on location and mileage.
Hen keeping course for beginners
Have you always wanted hens but not sure where to start? Well I have the perfect course for you.
I have learnt a lot over the years in hen keeping - mostly the hard way! My course is a more relaxed course talking about my experiences and you can see and demonstrate on my flock too. I find practical hands-on learning more interesting than sitting at a computer.
Chicken keeping can be a minefield so this course will help in giving you the confidence you need in chicken keeping going forward.
Relax with a cup of tea with plenty of time to ask questions and learn about health, husbandry, housing and everything in between.
Lifetime advice from myself should you ever need it to!
Educational workshops
Aimed at all ages, I will be covering animal welfare and what chickens and other animals need to be happy and healthy. Learn the difference between caged and free range eggs. How a hen uses her senses, digests and reproduces. Pupils will also have the opportunity to meet a friendly ex-commercial hen, and learn more about their story from farm to much loved family pet. If you would prefer not to have hens brought to your school, let me know during the booking process and I can bring in my cuddly hen (soft toy) instead.
